Compliance relates to the company policy for the configurations of network devices. Companies usually have a set of functionality (SNMP, NTP, DNS, logging, ssh, etc) that needs to be enabled on all devices that support that functionality. Usually, this information is contained in a document, but more often than not, there are exceptions in the configurations of the devices. When there is change, all devices need to be updated.
Solution: With NMS, you create a policy that contains all the functionalities and associated parameters that match the company policies. Multiple values can be assigned to a parameter. Once the policy is assigned to a device, any change in the policy is automatically reflected in the configuration of the device.
Moreover, the report functionality of NMS generates a description of the policy automatically.
